Dr. Dennis Addo is the Founding Chairman of the International Society for Telemedicine & E-Health (ISfTeH), Ghana Chapter – the first in Africa and the second chapter globally. As a visionary leader, he is spearheading Ghana’s digital health transformation, positioning the nation as a pioneer in Africa’s digital health movement. His leadership in establishing the ISfTeH Ghana Chapter connects local innovators with global networks, including WHO, VillageReach, and Google, to bridge the digital health divide and advance equitable healthcare through AI, telemedicine, and innovative technologies.
As the Founder and CEO of Claron Health International, Dr. Addo drives a trailblazing managed and digital healthcare company delivering cutting-edge medical, occupational, and preventative health services across Africa. Claron serves global giants such as Tullow Oil, Kosmos Energy, Halliburton, Coca-Cola Equatorial, Standard Chartered Bank, and Vodafone, establishing itself as a leader in corporate health and wellness with ambitions for global expansion. Its flagship telemedicine platform, Claron Doc, is transforming healthcare delivery, with plans to scale to underserved rural areas, addressing connectivity and literacy challenges.
A global champion for digital health and innovation, Dr. Addo served as the Global Lead for COVID Safe Paths at the MIT Media Lab, advancing AI-driven public health solutions. His entrepreneurial vision birthed Wala Digital Health, a groundbreaking digital marketplace for blood donation, processing, and delivery, tackling critical blood shortages in developing nations.
With a robust background as a Senior Medical Officer for the United Nations (UNIFIL and UNOCI), Dr. Addo managed healthcare for thousands of soldiers in war-torn regions, demonstrating resilience and leadership under pressure. As an Edward S. Mason and Adrian Cheng Fellow at Harvard University, he shapes high-impact health policies and innovations. A member of the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons, he holds an MD from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from Harvard University, and postgraduate degrees in Global Health from UC Berkeley.
